Named for his firey red neonate and current peppered adult coloring, Phoenix is a mite phase chondro I received from Marcial Mendez as a sub-adult. He has an interesting background that includes some of the first chondros ever produced in captivity. Phoenix's sire, Tony Montana, comes from the "Van Mierop" line of chondros. Dr. L.H.S. Van Mierop was a professor at UF whose initial research, along with Ophiological Services, The National Zoo, and Trooper Walsh, helped unravel the secrets of chondro incubation. The future is bright for this beautiful male.
